Living River Association (LRA)
Mission statement
The mission of the Rivers for Life organization is to protect rivers and ecosystems, as well as to defend the rights and livelihoods of communities affected by large-scale water resource development projects, such as the construction of large dams in Thailand and neighboring countries along major rivers in the Mekong and Salween sub-regions.
We promote the rights of local communities to manage their own water resources.
We support sustainable water management approaches rooted in local knowledge.
We oppose threats to rivers and freshwater ecosystems in Thailand and across the Mekong River Basin region.
