Malaysian Nature Society
Mission statement
The Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) was established in 1940 with the mission to promote the conservation of Malaysia’s natural heritage. It is the oldest membership-based environmental and tax-exempt NGO with Branches nationwide. MNS conducts various conservation and environmental education projects in Malaysia and currently manages two Nature Education Centres (Kuala Selangor Nature Park and EcoCare Kerteh). MNS works with a broad range of stakeholders including government agencies, corporate companies, schools, MNS members and public, local communities, indigenous peoples and international partners such as BirdLife International, IUCN, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Asian Species and Action Partnership (ASAP) and Conservation Allies. MNS also publishes the Malayan Nature Journal and Malaysian Naturalist.
