Bird Conservation society of Thailand BCST
Mission statement
Through birdwatching, nature education, and direct conservation actions, we strive to raise public awareness of the importance of birds, their habitats, and the natural environment, and to inspire and support actions that contribute to sustainable development.
Our Focus
We emphasize science-driven conservation, focusing on priority species—especially those that are critically endangered or endangered, such as the Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Helmeted Hornbill, and Sarus Crane. We work to protect and restore habitats in Thailand’s Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs), while empowering local communities and collaborating with government agencies and partners. We also promote citizen science through platforms such as eBird and Merlin Bird ID, making conservation accessible to everyone.
