The emergency

Wildlife Rescue Centre Jogja has been leading efforts, together with key collaborators, to conserve the Malaysian Giant Turtle and is facing a critical funding gap. This grant will enable the continuation of its core operations and activities, including the co-management of the largest captive population of the species within its native range, collaboration with local communities in the Bangka Belitung region, and targeted outreach efforts to keep this often-overlooked species on conservation agendas. It will also give the team time to strengthen their fundraising capacity and explore diverse funding sources.
