Objectives

To support the Saola Foundation tracker team and a representative from Cybertracker (international experts in wildlife tracking) on a ten-day tracker training study tour in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand. (ASAP supported the 2024 tracking training)

This is part of a larger long-term plan to develop effective indigenous animal tracking specialists by mentoring rigorously recruited indigenous apprentice animal trackers with skilled and accredited international trackers.

Results

13 members of the SF team received ten days of intensive training in animal sign identification and interpretation in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand in Oct 2025, leading to improvements in technical skills and overall team motivation.
