This species is the only known from Bunaken Marine National Park (Koppetsch et al. 2019). Habitat protection needed for this species. In addition, targeted survey needed to resolve the taxonomy of this species and other mainland species (G. Gillespie pers. comm. 2019).
This species is known only from Pulau Manado Tua off the Minahassa Peninsula in northern Sulawesi, Indonesia (Koppetsch et al. 2019). It is presumed to occur from sea level up to 650 m asl (G. Gillespie and S. Reilly pers. comm. 2019).
This species is known from four specimens, all collected in 1991 (Koppetsch et al. 2019).
Deforestation caused by slash and burn agriculture at small scale is a major threat to this species (G. Gillespie and S. Reilly pers. comm. 2019).
