This species is currently known from two localities in the Siriwo River system of Papua Province, Indonesia at two bridge crossings on the Nabire-Enarotoli road, one at approximately 79 m and the other at 197 m above sea level (Allen et al. 2016, G.R. Allen pers. comm. 2019).
There is no information on the population size or trend of this species.
There are three mining concessions, including one operating mine, in the distribution area of this species (Kadarusman pers. comm. 2019).
