Project aims

  • Determine if Mesilau Stream Toad is extinct or still present at historical sitesat Mesilau on Mount Kinabalu and Mount Trusmadi, Sabah

  • Assess the population and present distribution of Mesilau Stream Toad if itcontinues to survive on Mount Kinabalu and/or Mount Trusmadi, Sabah

Results

  • Confirmed that Mesilau Stream Toad is not extinct and continues to survive at Mesilau on Mount Kinabalu.

  • Also confirmed the presence of the species at Mount Trusmadi, Sabah.

  • Recorded the presence of tadpoles in the Mesilau East River and Tibabar Stream which indicates that breeding is taking place.
